August 10: Hand-deliver artwork to Oak Orchard Lighthouse Museum, Noon – 4 PM. August 10 – In-person show opening 

August 11- Sept 2 – Prize winners on display at OOLHM 

Entries will be featured on the Oak Orchard Lighthouse Museum Facebook page, with recognition of the photo credit attributed to the photographer. Award winners will be featured on the Oak Orchard Lighthouse Museum website. 

Eligibility: 

Work must be original and wholly attributable to the credited photographer entering each piece. Entered photographs must have been taken within the past two calendar years (January 2022-July 2024.) Photographs must include the Oak Orchard Lighthouse edifice within the image, even if it is not the center of attention in the image. Photos may be retouched and/or digitally enhanced, but should not be so artificial as to misrepresent the actual structure. Entries may be submitted from any photographer, amateur or professional, of any age. Photographs may be black and white or color. No motion pictures or video submissions allowed. 

Entry Fees: 

$25 for first entry, $20 for each additional entry (max 4 entries allowed per registrant) 

Jurying:

Entries will be selected for public display in the 2024 OOLHM Photography Show by a jury composed of members of OOLHM Board of Trustees. Award-winning images will be displayed at the OOLHM and at a special show at the organization’s annual fundraiser. Photographers agree to share credited copyright of images selected for recognition with the OOLHM website. Award winning prints will be displayed at OOLHM August 11 – September 2, 2024. 

Process for Applying:

Register and submit images through showsubmit.com 

Delivery of Prize-winning Work:

Matted and framed prints of images selected for honors and awards must be received by August 10, 2024 for inclusion in the in-person exhibition. Matted and framed prints must be at least 9 X 12” image size, exclusive of frame and matting, and must be ready to hang. 

Additional prints of images selected for honors and awards may be sold by the photographer at the OOLHM and at its annual fundraiser, at which prizes will be awarded. 

If your work is selected for the show and you cannot bring it in-person you may ship your work and it must arrive by Wednesday August 7, 2024. Ship to: Chris Manaseri, OOLHM Board President, 14504 Lakeshore Road, Kent, NY 14477. You must have a pre-paid return label for return of any work. 

Retention of Award Winning Work:

One matted and framed print of each award-winning entry will be retained by the Oak Orchard Lighthouse Museum for display and/or for sale or Auction at the discretion of the OOLHM. 

Awards:

Cash awards ($250, $150 & $100) will be given to the three photographs selected for in-person display. One matted and framed image of each selected top three photos will be retained by the OOLHM. Winners need not be present to receive awards. 

Sales:

Photographers of images selected for honors will be afforded the opportunity to market prints of their work at the OOLHM fundraiser event, tentatively scheduled for August 10 (OR 17) 2024 (TBD). Details will be provided to registered entrants.
