OAK ORCHARD LIGHTHOUSE DINNER

Once again the Haines Very Big Cottage at Point Breeze will light up for our Ninth Annual Fund Raising Dinner for the OOLH Museum. Friday, August 21st will be a memorable occasion for all those that attend.

As usual the Social Hour will be from 6 – 7 PM with guests enjoying hors de ‘Oeuvres prepared by Penna Catering. Cold punch and water will also be available. Hopefully we can enjoy socializing on Gene’s patio with the beautiful view of the Lake and the Lighthouse.

The call to dinner, prepared by Chef Penna, will be around 7 PM. Wine from our local wineries will be available at each table. During the serving of dessert Marcy Downey, our own local vocalist, will entertain us described as “unforgettable”.

Museums are places where we go to learn about and remember the past. They help us understand our rich heritage. The evening program is a series of short presentations by representatives of three of our local museums, giving us a glimpse of what each has to offer. Matt Ballard – Orleans County Historian and acting Director of the Cobblestone Museum, Jeff Donahue – Director of the Holland Land Office Museum in Batavia, Marty Phelps – Curator of the Medina Railroad Museum, and Dick Anderson – President of the Oak Orchard Lighthouse Museum will all make brief presentations. Wrapping up the presentations will be C. W. (Bill) Lattin – Orleans County Historian Emeritus whose vast knowledge of local history will surely provide some interesting anecdotes.

This event is by reservation only and seating is limited to 100 guests. Contact your friends to have a fun, informative and enjoyable evening Friday, August 21, starting at 6 PM. To reserve your seats, go to the Gift Shop page on this web site or contact Dick Anderson – 585-682-4383 or email (oolhdick@aol.com)

Reservations are $65 per person of which $30 is a deductible donation.
